Blue River is a tributary of the San Francisco River located in eastern Arizona, United States. It originates in the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests and flows through the Blue River Wilderness Area. The river is known for its crystal-clear blue water and pristine wilderness surroundings. It is a popular destination for fishing, hiking, and camping. Among the fish species found in Blue River are rainbow trout, brown trout, Apache trout and smallmouth bass. The Blue River is also home to diverse wildlife such as black bears, cougars, deer, and elk. The river can be accessed by multiple trailheads, including the Blue Crossing Trailhead and the Blue River Campground. The area receives up to 30 feet of snowfall during the winter months, which limits access to the river during that time.
